22: What’s the benefit of practicing Yoga?

Alas, there are many benefits. There are also many forms of Yoga but I really only have experience with Hatha Yoga, which is the practice of breathing, postures/asanas , and meditation. The same way that blood flows through your veins, so does kundalini energy or chi through your energy body. The words kundalini and chi mean the same thing and there are many other words that could be used but I’m going to just use kundalini for now, since that’s how the energy is named in Yoga. So this kundalini energy flows between the different parts of us but is mainly focused in a vertical line at our horizontal center, from our bottom, up the spine, to the top-middle of our head. The different asanas (postures) are meant to remove blockage along these energy pathways so that the energy flow is unobstructed. The connection between our physical bodies, soul, and spirit, converge at 7 points between our bottom and top. These seven points are called Chakras, which translates as "wheel" or ...

14: Why practice meditation?

Everyone should practice meditation in order to take a proactive role in the way that their mind is programmed. Our mind is always working on something and constantly trying to define and refine information sent to it from our senses and our conscious mind. I’ll define that action here as a ‘thought pattern’. Thought patterns are bridges between thoughts and emotions. For example, if you’re an alien from another planet and your ship crashes in the jungle, you may need to gather food. You see that monkeys are eating bananas but when you try it, it tastes bad and you vomit. Then you notice that there are green ones and yellow ones, and that the monkeys are eating the yellow ones. After some time of eating the yellow ones, seeing yellow bananas makes you want to eat but seeing the green ones makes you almost feel sick. This is actually a survival trait inherited from our animal base. As animals, it may take hundreds of generations, but at some point, you could take a newborn animal, and w...

3: How did you, and how can someone experience nirvana/enlightenment??

First off, I changed this question that was originally worded, “reach” with “experience”. I did this because I feel that ‘reach’ implies a level or even a constant level, when in reality it’s more like going out of town. You go, but you come back. Since we were ‘born’ in this ‘town’, it’s safe to say that we belong here. That being the case, I’m in no way suggesting that anyone try to visit the ‘town’. In fact, my interpretation of studies would say that many people have actually gone, but none fully came back! In Joseph Campbell’s book, ‘Myths to Live By’ he interviewed people that had undergone a certain type of, paranoid schizophrenic delusion, as defined by their doctors. The one’s that were coherent described a similar experience to mine. The difference being is that when I was being bombarded with information, I was able to let it pass through, thanks to practicing meditation. Without that, it’s very easy for me to understand why those patience are institutionalized. Another adva...
