47. Do you understand why some people need to work very hard at enlightenment and for others it just arrives out of the blue?

For one thing, I think that it’s difficult for us to judge/assess the efforts of another human being towards any goal. Take an Olympic athlete as an example… Do we know how much actual effort it took that person to qualify? On the flip side of that, take a 5th grade student getting a ‘C’ in mathematics, did the student do his/her best? The reality is, reaching a goal is mostly a combination of ability and effort/time, the more ability you have, the less effort/time it will take to do something. Example: There are 100 kilos of wood, to a person that can carry 100 kilos at a time, it won’t take much effort/time to move that wood a couple of meters away. For someone that can only carry 20 kilos, it will take them more effort/time. The way this relates is that, the person who can carry the 100k of wood at once may have begun only carrying 5k and may have worked for years to increase to the ability to carry 100k. Someone just seeing the end result may be inclined to think that it was easy for the person to move 100k because they aren’t aware of what effort/time it took for the person to BUILD their ability to do so.

I have mentioned in past posts that karma is 100% accurate and that reincarnation exists. Many times we look at someone’s life and think it’s easy or it’s hard but, in reality, all of our lives are for reasons relating to choices we make. Let’s talk about prodigies for a moment. There are countless examples of children born with great abilities in math, art, or music (to name a few types of talents). The reason that they are born so talented is because of lifetimes of past practice and experience. It is not that they are lucky and others are not. We are all different, and we choose a variety of things to focus on. Some people have focus on a few things, and some people on many. It is our choice. The more focus and effort that we put into something, the better we become at it. When we incarnate into a new body, our core energy is transferred. Even though we don’t usually bring with us memories of our past lives (consciously), we ourselves ARE the energy that is being refined. That’s why it’s so important to improve ourselves, because it’s not like our energy resets, just the specifics of the circumstances do, when we reincarnate.

I don’t believe that enlightenment comes out of the clear blue for anyone, although I understand why it may appear that way, even to the person experiencing it. Enlightenment always comes about for a reason, even if the reason is never discovered. My belief is that it may take many lifetimes to reach a state of nirvana or enlightenment (as defined by a oneness with God/the universe) but ultimately the amount of time that it will take, relates to the effort put in. The effort put in, again in this case, is through more than one lifetime. Once you attain Enlightenment/experience nirvana in one lifetime, it will be within your ability to repeat it in a future life. In that future life it may not take as much time/effort/focus to attain the desired state. In my case, I’m confident that this lifetime was not my first time attaining. I had to deal with a compact amount of challenging/difficult experiences early this life and was born with a burning desire to answer all of the questions that I had of God and the universe. Anyway, I believe that if you truly want to attain enlightenment or a state of nirvana, you can. It’s just a matter of time but it may not happen in this lifetime. That’s why I again remind that life is about the journey toward the destination, not the destination itself, because there will always be a new place to go. Just remember that 100% faith means 0% excuses, live your life in away that prepares you for this truth so that when you do attain, you can handle the psychological adjustments necessary to choose your next destination!
